Yeah, this particular system has had real variability about where the convergence zones appeared. Much of yesterday they were well to the south or well to the north of Seattle. Then the snow-shadow effect collapsed and we started getting snowfall everywhere the cold air from the north met the wet air from the south. Kent was one of those places.
It's snowing just a little right now in the U District -- a few random flakes dancing around, refusing to settle. (Which sounds like it ought to be a description of something else altogether, though I'm not quite sure what.)
Anyway, as long as we don't get a big accumulation of snow or ice in along my bus route, the commute shouldn't be bad, really. The trains don't care about snow.
It's very beautiful, but a little late to be getting heavy snowfalls (for Seattle's values of heavy). Are those Daleks in the background of the second photo?
It's been an especially snowy winter this year. Snow for Thanksgiving, forsooth. Now snow all over my crocuses, which have been blooming this week. *sigh* If we get snow for Easter, I Shall Be Annoyed.
And yes, those are the International District Daleks, what menace Uwajimaya, in the background of the second picture. I walk by them every day as I go between the train station and the bus tunnel. I typically try to take any visiting TAFF dignitaries to see them when they are in town, too...
In patches, but not much. A lot melted when the sun came out. Which is okay by me since Hal needs to take the Merz into the shop today, and we would prefer that he not have to slog through it on foot once he drops off the car.
