U.S. Geography Fluff
Jan. 20th, 2005 03:27 pmHere's a cool thing I cribbed from
katzenmusik. It's a little U.S. geography self-test, to see how good you are at placing the outlines of U.S. states within the map of the country. My score: 90% perfect placements, average of 23 mile error on mis-placements, in 445 seconds. The bitchy part is that there appears to be a randomizer on what states you get in what order. It's easy to get something like Kansas or Colorado early on, before you have any other state borders to guide you. Have fun, kiddies.

But after that it was just pattern matching, at least for me.

Date: 2005-01-21 05:41 pm (UTC)I managed to get even Idaho correct without any guiding states, by eyeballing what I thought the shape of Washington should be. But damn, I let go of the mouse button and dropped Vermont in the middle of northern Michigan, and that really hosed my score.
