Okay, who thought turquoise and chocolate brown together was a good idea? No, nevermind, I know the answer to that. But why on earth are people foolish enough to *buy* clothes that are turquoise-and-chocolate-brown, even if the powers that be dictated it? Bleagh.

We're doing well if we're only a year behind the UK. London tends to be very cutting edge. Though in the case of the chocolate-and-teal-or-pink thing, I know it's been around a while, it's just that the bus was particularly crowded yesterday morning and there's something about someone's chocolate-and-turquoise-covered ass in your face every time you look up from your book that calls extra attention to the unfortunateness of the combo.

LOLOL I've been saying that for a year! The pink and chocolate are just as bad. I don't care if fall's colors are supposed to be black, grey, white, and brown. I'm wearing red and purple and green.

Yeah, chocolate and pink are just as hideous. What were they thinking? And yes, I wear what I wear irrespective of fashion-seasonal dictates, though it helps a lot having a good resale store that carries my size. I just got some really comfy bright red Tencel pants there for a song.

I used to get almost all my clothes from MIB, but the new owner is decreasing colors and making clothes I don't like/can't use. I put in an order to http://www.pluswoman.com where they will make custom things (I sent them a set that fit to measure along with my measurements) and they sent me the first top & pants to check -- rustic red jersey pants and a red cotton flannel shirt (woven plaid, not printed) -- and they're great. The rest of the order is due in a couple of weeks. It takes longer to get stuff from them, but it fits perfectly and I have a wide range of fabrics and colors to choose from.

There aren't any resale shops here that carry my size and I suppose other really large women are like me in that I tend to wear clothes to pieces.

MIB? Men in Black?

Anyway, there's no doubt I'm lucky to have Two Big Blondes in the area; I can reliably just walk in and find pants that fit on the sale rack, as long as I'm not too fussy about *what* kind of pants I'm looking for. But I recognize that, as someone who qualifies as a PlusWoman XS or XXS, I'm not going to have the same issues as someone larger.

Stuff that works on me, I will wear to bits, but I do find I get stuff that just gathers dust in the closet, so I'm not always the last owner of my clothes. Right now, in fact, I really need to go through and see what all can/should be gotten rid of.

Sorry, http://www.makingitbig.com -- plus size women's fashions. Used to be all natural fabrics, but the new owner is also selling polyester. The range of colors was fabulous and extended to pants, but now you can only get pants in navy, brown, grey, and black. Boo Hiss The new owner is contining the "tie-dye shirt each season" and I expect to continue buying those.

I go through my closet at the end of each season and while there are clothes I don't wear often that I keep, they're clothes I wear to weddings, funerals, and cons. I don't have other reasons to dress up.

The After Eight line of clothes?

I think even After Eight has the decency to make their mint filling white. You have to get down to the third tier chocolatiers before they do something that ugly.

This happens every so often. I blame 80s shell suits.

Oh, I dunno. It seems to me that the whole brown-with-blue thing dates back to the early seventies at least, back in the day when everyone wore baby-blue eyeshadow.
