Still Not the Worldcon Report
Aug. 30th, 2006 10:50 amLet the withdrawal symptoms begin.
Hi, I'm Ulrika and I'm a socialholic. My fannish engine thrives on far-flung friends and good conversation, and it ran pretty hot, happily humming along on all twelve cylinders burning the heady, high octane mixture that was Worldcon. Now I must readjust to the far leaner mix of ordinary life in the post-Clarion West Seattle season, but I can tell from the knocking and pinging and reluctance to idle that I am not happy about it. The major symptom so far is the way I keep rechecking LJ too frequently, looking for an overflowing foment of chat and conreports and retrieved conversational threads well beyond what's reasonable to expect. When I don't find it, I bang on the monitor a bit: "Hey, hello?? Hello?! Is this thing on?!?" and then shuffle away muttering. I need stimulation, dammit. Common, you bastards, entertain me!
More sanguine blogging will resume presently. I hope. Thank Ghu it's Vanguard on Saturday.
