Well, I don't particularly believe in a God of any sort, but I have to say in defense of a Theoretical Deity, that it's his wacky believers who basically invent all sorts of theological justification for what they wanted to do anyway who are the real problem.

A good reason for mowing them down with 50-cals. As they themselves say: kill 'em all -- let God sort 'em out! ;-)

How does one separate the Theoretical Deity from his believers? What other existence has he got? Possibly I had too much German Idealism at an impressionable age, but even supposing the Deity is real, I can't see that He can be supposed to have any existence in the absence of belief and believers. Certainly I see no sign of the action of the Deity except through His believers, and if you claim He is the Creator, well, then it has to be said that He created those motherfuckers His own Self, and could have left them out of the grand plan, so either way, I don't see that it's trivial to separate God from Believers in any meaningful way.
