It's a lot like never leaving the convention, really. I'm just back from a boffo pub outing to the dear old Elysian with [livejournal.com profile] libertango, [livejournal.com profile] jerrykaufman, Randy Byers, Suzle, and John D. Berry, as well as the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] flyingsauce (HeLLOOOOO, Pete!) in honor of whose layover in Seattle the outing was organized in the first place. The fanzines and gossip flowed like beer; thankfully, so did the beer. Efforts to get Pete to stand for TAFF were somewhat abortive, but I think I may have convinced John to finish a TAFF report. Yes, he in fact won Some Other fan fund, but Randy and I formed a united front in asserting that TAFF needs the money more.

I can't remember what all else, other than John very kindly confirmed that I'm cuter than various rather unattractive and ill-tempered animals. There is a world of pain in that man's future. You can't pay to have this much fun.

Update:
Have decided upon achieving sobriety again that [livejournal.com profile] flyingsauce is engaged in an elaborate masquerade: he can't possibly be English. A few years back I conducted a survey with a goodish sample size, whose net result was the discovery that Englishmen shake hands as if they're handing you a dead fish, and hug as if they're made of wood, and [livejournal.com profile] flyingsauce has mastered neither of these telltale skills. Clearly, he is a deeply closeted Welshman.

Yeah, it was like that when I got into fandom in Seattle. FIAWOL all the way, baby.

Thank you! The tattoos are by Erno, circa 1986, and yes he is still working in San Francisco. However, last I heard his recreational habits had become quite a problem. No one wants a tattoo artist with a shaky hand.

I cannot believe that with all the trips I do I have not yet managed to be in Seattle at the same time as [livejournal.com profile] flyingsauce...

Sounds like fun. I'm aiming to be in town in April, we can do the same again I hope.

Seattle fandom probably saved, if not my life, then my sanity; and my (someday) marriage.

I need to get off my ass and try to write it up for Chunga, before it fades into odd little bits of myth.
