Shoob Models His Sweater

While there are plenty of other things I could and should be doing on a Sunday afternoon, the fact that it's been sunny drove me to dig out the camera and do a bit of photo-documentation. My Ravelry projects page was sadly out-of-date, with many supposed wips (works in progress) in reality long since finished, and many more recent projects not showing at all, because I do like to include at least one project picture when I list a project, and decent photos are very nearly impossible when the sun isn't out. So the backlog grows while I wait for a sunny day on a weekend.

Today the sun came out. I've been busy taking pictures and posting them to Ravelry and updating my project pages as I go. I'm including a couple of images here so non-Ravelers can also get a peek. The shot above is Shoobie in a sweater I finished last winter, and the one below is a jacket, based on the Dr. Who scarf color progression, that I'm still working on. There's plenty of knitting still to do before Christmas, but at least now my listed projects are a bit closer to up-to-date.

Now I should probably do some grocery shopping and dig in to my Mandarin homework. Final exam is next Saturday so it's time for the Big Review.

Shoobie's sweater is adorable (well, to be precise, Shoobie is adorable and looks smashing in the sweater). And I love the jacket so far. Can't wait to see pix when it's complete (or to see it for real at some point).

Shoobie is, indeed, adorable. I can take no credit for it as he was very randomly bred, and long before we inherited him, but it has saved his life many times, because he's a bit of a contrarian little f*cker. Happily for him, he's too cute to kill. I am quite pleased by how the sweater looks on him, but I've got to go back and seam up the "arm"-holes because as it stands, they're so wide he slips right out of them with his usual carefree insouciance.

I think that adorableness in general is a lifesaver for most pets. It certainly is for Sophie.

Yes, well, they can all thank the importance to human species survival of hard-wiring a resistance to infanticide. Anything with big eyes and a large-ish head relative to body size gets collateral protection. Certainly my mother periodically insisted that cuteness was the only thing that saved my kid brother.

Those are both awesome and also I love the infund...infub...thingie in blue you made from Teresa's instructions. How great you are making a jacket instead of a scarf! And have I told you lately how very much I love the socks you knit me?

Thanks! You were quite lucky to get those socks, you know. I had two different people, one of them a total stranger on the bus, offer me money for those as I was making them. It makes me wish the shop had had more of that yarn colorway when I bought that skein. Clearly it has broad appeal. I wouldn't mind a pair in those colors myself.

Did I ever post a photo of them? I should if I haven't.

Not that I saw, anyway. And yes, I would love to see them actually being worn and all.

Shoobie always looks self-possessed. It's his birthright as the King of Everything.

I like the 'Doctor Who' jacket.

Shoobs does indeed look quite stylish and dignified in that sweater, something few dogs manage.

I'm pretty sure Shoob gets his magisterial grace from the inbred, bedrock certainty that he is the center of the universe and most important creature in it.

I have high hopes for the jacket, though it's got a bit more work to go than I previously thought. I had to stow it away in the hurried clean-up when a not wholly expected series of fan fund winners descended on the house, and I'm only just getting back and figuring out what needs to get done on it. Eventually I expect I'll put it in a fannish auction of some sort.

Love the pic of Shoobie in the sweater. Doesn't have that "why are you doing this to me" look so common in dogs modeling clothing.

Yeah, that's the thing with Shoob. If he really minded it, it wouldn't still be on him by the time I got the camera ready.
