RIP Dan Hoey

Good lord. I hadn't heard anything about Dan Hoey's death by suicide back at the end of August, until Marilee Layman mentioned it today. Poor Dan. I met him a few times at conventions and he was sweet and amiable and easy company, and his passing is a loss to us all. Peace to him, and my heartfelt sympathies to all his near and dear. It's a shock to me. On the basis of seeing him a few times at cons, I considered him a friend.

Keith Lynch has assembled an archive of all the newsposts by Dan that he has saved over the years, and requested others to fill the gaps if they find any that they can fill. I don't have the link to hand, but I posted it in the current open thread at Making Light a day or two ago.
