The cherries are starting to bloom on the quad. About damn' time. And for two days running we've had sunny pleasant weather in the noon hour. It's crap now, of course, but we once had sun and here's the proof.
Oh, and the cherry blossoms on the tidal basin are blooming early and they may be past the peak by the festival. The festivals will be muted this year because of Japan (who gave us cherry trees 99 years ago, and some are still alive) and there'll be multiple places to donate to the American Red Cross.
Cherries are about done here and probably got wiped out by the rain & hail. My poor Santa Rosa Plum was in full "snowball" bloom just before this last set of T-storms... looks like another year without plums. Or D'Anjou pears, same problem, they do this every year...
