...I'm looking at you, Dave O'Neill...

While at the Kent Farmers' Market on Saturday, we spotted a booth with a big Union Jack banner proclaiming Proper British Bacon. Turns out they've also got a shop, down in Auburn, just south of us, but for the time being, clearly the convenient way to get back bacon and bangers will be to stroll down to the market on a Saturday mornings and get it fresh from the butcher.

Hey Dave, want me to pick you up a rasher or two next weekend?

OH DEAR GHODS YES!!! YES!!!

If you bring it, I will cook it. With eggs, and Sausages, and I can find Black Pudding, and Beans, there must be beans. I might even bake soda bread.

For beans, and I think I may have mentioned this, you might try Bush's vegetarian baked beans. I know the name is off-putting, but I think they're a good match for Heinz's.

Actually QFC now stock real, honest to goodness, Heinz Baked Beans which is nice, and Metropolitan Market have Weetabix, fresh from Canada.

Actually this sounds lovely -- maybe we could get together this weekend or one of these Saturdays (Hal works Sunday afternoon/evenings) and let the dogs maul each other and run amok while we eat. Then possibly take a jaunt over to Marymoor to excurse the dogs while we waddle off breakfast.

Let me check in with the powers that be and get back to you. We're constrained on the Marymoor because of the broken puppy - she's still in a splint and unable to walk, run or swim yet and it'll be another 3-4 weeks before she can start playing normally again.

And yes, since you asked, living with a housebound 1 year old lab is driving me completely insane.

Acepromazine is doing what it can, but I'm getting tired of drugging my dog.

No worries; I'm pretty sure the Kent Farmer's Market runs through September, so we could always defer until the poor puppy is hale again.

If this is the real McCoy, then I'm down to needing to find a reliable supplier of "real" cream - the 48% stuff not this 36% crap, and I think I've got pretty much all my essentials covered.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. I didn't get any this week because I hadn't picked up enough cash before going to the market, but I hope to report back next week...

Dunno. I think they mostly do steak.

I don't recall recoiling in horror at the bacon in Australia, so I think they do. But I was last there in 1986, so the memory might be a tad fuzzy.
