I guess I'm testing the limits of how late I can announce one of these things. I blame the whirling fandango of non-stop desperate fun that was the holidays. Even I can hit a point of Too Much Fun, apparently.

I and a few others have to be at the Foolscap committee meeting earlier in the afternoon, so I may be running late. And what with various Heavy & Dark Stuff that sundry friends are dealing with, perhaps not many will be in a mood to socialize.

But, just in case someone was counting on it:

The Hales folks seem to freak out a bit if we start rearranging the furniture, and they really want to forcibly stick groups of six or more Somewhere Else, so if you show up, please Be Cool and gather in groups that fit the number of chairs at the tables and plan on circulating from table to table if there are enough of us that we won't fit at the tables provided. Being smoke free and disabled-friendly seems worth courting.

Llyne and I checked the "Volunteer for Foolscap" box on our registration, but haven't heard anything. Is tomorrow's meeting something which we should try to attend? If so, can you please send us info? We'll be busy until 12:30 or so, but are free after that.

As for Fans with Beer, I think we'll try to be there.

In re Foolscap - usually conventions fall into a hierarchy of committee then (if they're big enough) staff then volunteers. Unless you've been specifically contacted by one of the committee to be on the committee, I don't think you need to worry about it. On the other hand, if you would particularly *like* to be on the committee, let me know. I have a vague sense that there may be a spot or two still open on it, and willing charlies are always welcome. I can check in on that today if you'd like.

As for the beer gathering, by all means, come on down. We'd love to see y'all.
