I remember the days of the Apollo 11 hoopla. I was not thrilled at the time. Honestly, getting to the moon seemed quite inevitable to me, and the picture quality was terrible, most of the broadcast was really boring, and worst of all, it interfered with my morning cartoons. What the hell were they thinking, pre-empting people's morning cartoons?

I remember really resenting the coverage of the Kennedy assassination and then funeral. All the channels had essentially the same thing on, and most of the time nothing was happening, they had nothing to say, and just blathered on anyway.

I don't have any memories of the Kennedy assassination, but then, if I have any memories from when I was 1.5 years old, they're pretty fragmentary. I have no idea what the coverage of the Kennedy shooting was like in Sweden, but I have to imagine it was substantially less, not least because Sweden only had one broadcast television channel, and it didn't operate full time.

One thing I've noticed is that I don't have the disappointment about the failure to follow up on the moon landings that a lot of commentators express. I guess the unmanned space program is plenty cool enough for me.
