Open Letter to a Craigslist Abuser

Dear Jason-

Other animal sales ads get flagged off too. You aren't special.

And I'm not wasting any particular amount of time on you and your dogs -- it takes next to no time to flag an ad, and I'm not the only person who flags. Lots of people do it because helps maintain the community. The only reason craigslist is usable is because community policing enforces the rules. If people didn't flag ads that don't belong, the list would rapidly devolve into nothing but spam, arguments, and ads by white trash pencil-dick crackers such as yourself trying to get a free ride because they figure any rules they don't like don't apply to them. But here's a clue -- if everyone were as big an asshole as you, craigslist wouldn't exist for you to abuse. Which makes you an immoral freeloader, because you count on other people being better than you. Luckily, a lot of people are.

As for why one might care about you and what you do with your dogs? Asshole, there's an overpopulation problem with pitbulls. More are bred than can find homes already, partly because dumbass posers like you insist on butchering their ears and breeding for muscle and adding to their reputation as vicious killers and fighters, instead of breeding for temperament. You're adding to the excess population of dogs that will wind up homeless, run over, starved to death, euthanized in shelters, or used as bait for fighting dogs. Shelters end up killing dumpsters full of dogs, the majority of which are pits, every fucking day because too many so-called people have your dumbass ignorant shithead attitude that it's not a problem to breed more dogs than they can care for because someone will want them. Yeah, they want them as long as they're little and cute, or until the owners develop allergies or go on vacation or get a big vet bill or break up with their spouse or get shipped overseas. Then the dog gets dumped, sold, or simply abandoned after the owners move. Happens all the time and you're contributing to it.

So the reason I care about your dogs is I like pits. They're great dogs: loyal and sweet and smart and gentle and eager to please. And I hate knowing that their lives are often lived in misery, starvation, and neglect because of self-important little pissants like you who are too lazy, too cheap, or too ignorant to get their damned dogs fixed.

So, please, why don't *you* fuck off, especially fuck off craigslist. You don't belong. Oh, and? No Fucking Animal Sales. You agree to it every damn' time you repost your flagged ad, you mouth-breathing redneck inbred goddamn moron.

Not an expert on alt.peeves or your personal form, so I won't presume to rate or critique.

But do feel free to slam the ignorant sunovabitch as much as you please; I've known several pits and half-pits raised or rescued by good people, and they're just like you describe: sweet, smart, gentle, eager to please. (Probably loyal too, but my experience didn't really give them a chance to exhibit that.) But they've developed a reputation that attracts dick-heads like that guy.

(Obviously, I'm giving you the full benefit of the doubt on what happened. Seems a safe bet.)

Couldn't agree more. I'll be getting a dog later this year, and as usual, it's be a rescue. Once again, it's left to considerate owners to pick up the pieces.

Good on you! Well said. I, too, love pits. The reason they can be manipulated into being fighting dogs is because they are so devoted to their people that they will do anything they are taught to do. They are sensitive dogs, to boot. It's insensitive people, also allowed to over bred, that screw it up for everyone. Nothing you said is too strong, IMHO.
