I guess I need to get myself some more obscure interests. Most of these seem like they already are on my interests list. Go figure.

When I did that recently, most of the suggestions were bands or types of music I already knew I didn't like. Oh well.

I got bands I like well enough, but not enough to list them as interests.

Although I did like "girls with guitars" as an interest. Made my day.

I'm somewhat inclined to think that if I want music suggestions, the judicious use of Amazon, or Pandora, is going to be more effective, anyhow.

Hm. I tried it and got fairly high-level categories like "reading", "science fiction", "books", "music", "fantasy", "writing". Oh, and "cats". The list is mostly stuff that I am indeed interested in -- although "cooking" is a bit of a stretch, and I'm pretty actively *not* interested in "harry potter" -- but is not itself particularly interesting.
