I have finally succumbed to cunning blandishments, and bought a membership in 4th Street Fantasy. (If you've been thinking about it, you have two more days before they close pre-registration.) I acted without thinking, being as yet unsure that I can actually go, or that Hal will be able to come along if I do, but I figure it's a worthy cause if my membership ends up being "supporting" by default. Now to contemplate airfares.

Hmm. I think other conventions should appoint cheering sections to go "Woooo!" when people get a membership. It makes a person feel all warm and fuzzy and things.

Thanks, I hope to be seen! I've heard good things about the old 4th Street Fantasy cons for years, so I was very interested to go when I heard it was being brought back.

I very much hope so. It was a regular feature of The Original 4th St., and we want it to happen this time. It depends, of course, partly on who comes. We are making sure there is space as suitable as possible in the hotel for having music.

I've got both a membership and a room reservation, but am currently unsure if I'm going. I've found the tone of some of their programming stuff to be a little off. I just don't know...

Well, as I understand it, that's one of the best parts of 4th Street. Solicitation for panelists has been, imho, regrettably pro oriented. No mention of fans at all, even after I pointed out that they'd been left out.
