Oooh! Ooooh, oooh! Look, it's Friday, and I have actual pictures of my pets to post, all actually taken today. (Since the weather was supposed to be faboo for my birthday, I took the day off to garden. Ho. Since the nice brunch and drive in the country I have accomplished virtually nothing, having pottered about the house taking pictures and thinking about fiction. But then, why else have gloriously sunny, lazy birthdays?)


Here we have Miss Spike, completely relaxed despite being above ground, and lolling around in the sun on the couch. This is unexpected and new and, dare I say it, un-Spikelike behavior. So I took a buttload of pictures to document the moment, in case it never happens again.



Then we have Miss Sarah, having just gotten up from rolling all over the smelliest bits of the grass.



And finally, we have Miss Lefty, looking a bit put out that I insist on playing with the stupid camera instead of petting her, as I should.



Nothing, alas, of Miss Tinka, who spent most of the day out chasing flies in the yard -- thus accounting for Spike's relaxed state, above -- and has lately formed an unphotogenic blob on my dresser. Really, from here you can't even tell she's a cat. More of a long, lumpy tribble.
