Ya, the whole house was whatever the antonym of "staged" is. But that meant it was waiting around to be picked up by someone who could see past the total absence of staging. So, in the end, all to the good for us, if not for the sellers.
Yes, the light is lovely, with biggish windows on two sides of all the main rooms of the house. This is the advantage of having a square, boxy house -- you can put window-corners in every room. The living room gets even more light since we had the arbor vitae (big shrub visible behind the couch here) removed. You can get an idea of the difference, in Hal's post about the tree removal.
