Green is the Color of Dark

For those vicariously following the progress of the house, here's another shot of the living room before the arbor vitae got yanked. Dark. Dark, dark, dark.

Sorry if I missed this before, but what neighborhood are you in?

Well, our neighborhood is Mill Creek. No, that doesn't help, does it? City of Kent is where we are; twenty-odd miles south of Seattle. (Some of them odder than others.)

You know, I was really looking for an older house -- Craftsman bungalow sort of thing -- and it was a photo of that window in the online ad that initially got us to take a closer look at this house. It's a bit amazing that I spotted it at all, because the sellers' realtor did a rotten job of taking pictures of the house. But the light from the big windows, the hardwood floors, and all the established fruit trees in the yard, were big points in favor of this place.
