Listening to a SIFF promo spot on the radio, I found myself wondering if this "30-second film festival" was some sort of weird sub-category of super-short films within SIFF, before finally realizing that no, they meant "32nd Film Festival". Oh. Darn, that's so much less interesting.

Should it be a festival of 30-second films, or a festival that lasts for 30 seconds? I guess it could be both...

I think I was, in that brief moment before the raster reorganized itself and I understood the parsing, assuming that the full film festival would last only 30 seconds, but a festival of 30-second films would make more sense. Arguably, that's what the Clio Awards already are.

If it were a truly international film festival, it could show a lot of films. All at the same time. This seems worth doing, really. We'd need to pick a day and time, and have a web site for publicity and where people could list the films they are showing.

In high school a teacher joked about a kamikaze pilot and his 32nd mission. None of us laughed, so he made the joke again. Still no laugh, and eventually he realized we were doing the reverse parsing of yours above.

I like the idea of a 30 second film festival.
