Here's an LJ-meme suggested by [livejournal.com profile] del_c:

Friendship is often an ongoing process of discovery. What did you only just (or far later than seems reasonable to you) learn or realize about me, or one of your other Friends? I'll give you one for free: many folks seem to take quite a while to figure out that akirlu is just Ulrika backwards. (The forwards one was already taken, drat it.)

I only recently realized that [livejournal.com profile] liveavatar is really someone I've known for yonks -- it took a photo in [livejournal.com profile] athenais's journal to clue me; the pseudonym put me off the scent previously. Likewise, I didn't realize who [livejournal.com profile] bibiliophile is until she outed herself, even though I've known *her* since 1998. So I'm slow.

Possibly, [livejournal.com profile] akicif's LJ name confuses people about yours? (What is Ficika? :-)

I've had more the opposite: I was at a local fannish party when someone introduced me to [livejournal.com profile] eileenlufkin, and I blurted out, like I was 4 years old, "Oh, you're my friend!" Also I spent ten minutes at Minicon squinting across the consuite at [livejournal.com profile] laurel before I finally asked [livejournal.com profile] dd_b, "Do I know her and not know I know her?" And he laughed and said I did.

Prolly not. She started out in fandom at LASFS some time in the 70s, moved off to the Bay Area and is sort-of gafiated since many years, though she's still in LASFAPA, and has been to a Bay Area Corflu (or two?). For that matter she's posted sporadically to RASFF. So you're moving in somewhat overlapping circles, and may well have multiple acquaintances in common, but I don't think you actually know each other.

But I am unjustifiably chuffed to know the sekrit true identity of a fan on LJ before you. :)

I thought I had told you ages ago who [livejournal.com profile] bibliophile was... Oops. Sorry. I still haven't figured out who all the lj Brit folk are. I did figure out yesterday that the reason I kept thinking I ought to recognize aitchellsee (HLC) is because those initials are actually Homer Laughlin China -- the folks who make/made the Fiestaware I collect.

That you really like me.

I realise that sounds odd. Not that you enjoy my company, or find me pleasant, or are willing to put up with my foibles; which can be legion, but that you like me.

I'm not saying this well. I tend to assume that people can take me or leave me, somewhere in the past couple of years it became plain to me that if I weren't around, even at as distant a remove as I am (or have been) you would feel a lack.

Cockles, heart, warm.

Possibly; I'm not sure. If you've ever been in LASFAPA, yes, and if you've spent much time Regency dancing at Bay Area events, probably. Her time at LASFS was before you or I; she was one of the original G'Hillions, as I recall (though I may be spelling that wrong, since I can't get a single hit on Google with any of the variants I can think of).

Darling, if I didn't like you I might well have killed you. :) But yes, indeed, I do like you. Sorry not to have made it evident sooner.

Should we all assume that our continued existence after hanging out with you means you like us? Or is Terry the only one insufferable enough to require affection as a bar to murder?

Hmm. Is asking these questions asking for a quick whack to the chops? And if so, from whom?

Terry is among very few of my friends whom I've known since he was fourteen. He may be the only one of my current friends whom I've known since he was a fourteen-year-old boy. He is unquestionably the only fourteen-year-old un-shut-up-able chatterbox boy who hit on me when I was 21 who is still among my friends. Draw your own conclusions.

But I guess I can give you a quick whack in the chops if you really like.

Oh, I am certain you have. Obtuse may not be one of my middle names, but is almost certainly one of my titles.
