OTOH, I invented an Easter subtlety a few years back: deviled eggs, but you keep the whites paired and dye the yolks a lot of different colors. Then you refill the cavities and smoosh them together. Put them on a plate with un-deviled hardboiled eggs and watch people be surprised! (I did put a sign up: "ALLERGY WARNING: THESE EGGS HAVE BEEN MONKEYED WITH.")
