In Which I Am Not Actually Dead
Nov. 5th, 2012 03:30 pm...but have occasionally wished to be. Hideous cold from Hell, begin week 3.
I must presume it is not flu, because I have had my flu shots. Still, I've had this stupid lurgi, complicated by an ear and sinus infection, for a full two weeks even with antibiotics, and my ears are still under water, and I can still fire off a volley of coughing that will frighten small children at 50 yards. Bleargh. Sorry to have been so quiet lately but there isn't much to say about being miserable that hasn't been better said by my cat. Mieu.
We did close on the house refi, so there's that. On the other hand, I missed so much class time being sick, that I felt compelled to drop my Mandarin class. Because of the course sequencing, I won't be able to start up again until next fall. Boo, sucks.
Lesson learned: chairing a Potlatch on a super-duper-short timeline plus work plus 3rd-year Mandarin is not a viable combo. I did suspect the wheels would fall off something.
On the other hand, I did not nearly drown in the sinking of the Bounty, and I'm not facing November nights without power in New York or New Jersey, and next quarter I can always take something easy and low-stress, like maybe Statistics, so I have many things to be grateful for.
Still, it would be nice to be able to hear normally again.
