I've put up a small Flickr set of images from the Great White Power Failure. Nothing photographically brilliant, but it's what I got.

Aw, thanks. It is pretty well the best of a bad lot, and definitely took some monkeying with contrast and exposure after the fact. My ideal is to get the image nailed in the camera, without post-processing.

So is mine, but pp is a godsend when the exposure is tricky or the light is just plain bad. The composition is magnificent, that's the main thing that makes this so good.

Yeah, I wish I'd had a decent camera with me when we spotted the 2-storey cataract of ice running down from the gutter of a downtown loft building, or to record some of the amazing trees around Kent Station with the ice catching starlight.

Not sure how things will go with the plum -- if it's a goner, I will miss it, because it sure has been pretty when it blooms, but chances are, we could come up with something equally pretty to put in its place, or possibly even re-think the layout of the front lawn and leave that particular spot tree-less. I may wait a year before deciding, to see how we deal with the changes in light, heat, and view. Hell, I may wait a year just from inertia on getting the stump ground out if it has to go. But it's a fruit tree, they're often pretty sturdy even under radical limb loss, so first we'll see if it bounces back at all.
