Amazing Objects: The Human Brain
Oct. 22nd, 2009 10:05 amYou just have to bow in awe to the sort of blithe compartmentalization that enables a person to worry about "vegan" shoes on the one hand, while keeping obligate carnivores as pets on the other. Spending your money on the remains of slaughtered animals is apparently okay so long as it's 'for' the cat rather than 'for' you.
Then there's worrying about whether your fruit juice is colored with the carapaces of beetles, on the one hand, while eating bread and drinking beer made from grain that was industrially harvested and not organically grown. Lesson: killing bugs and other animals is fine as long as its incidental to what you're doing, rather than deliberately, mindfully, and humanely done.
Feh. This is the kind of fuckwittery that keeps PETA viable.
