Speaking of Tsunamis: Ways to Help

The enormity of the disaster in Southeast Asia is still sinking in for most of us. The known toll of deaths and displaced will continue to rise for some time, I imagine, as the news is always hard to gather in a disaster zone. If you’re looking for ways you can help, here are some places to start: a compendium of organizations accepting donations for disaster relief to is found in this article (one of which is the Red Cross; giving to the Red Cross is always a good idea). Also, an instant blog has been started at Tsunami Help to act as a clearing house for news, information, aid, resources, and ways to volunteer. Also, supergee points me to Made with Love...By A Liberal, a nascent organization of liberally inclined crafters who make hand-made items for anyone in need. Those with a crafty bent who want to make donations in their own communities can get woven labels from them to mark their goods as "Made with Love, By a Liberal". They also have links to knitting and crochet patterns they use.
