John Scalzi highlights an observation of Josh Marshall's

Ferraro is simply not capable of seeing Obama’s campaign as anything but an African-American favorite son candidacy. Once you get that everything seems to fall into place.

Ah, I get it. The shorter Geraldine Ferraro: "I was an affirmative action candidate, so Obama must be, too."

It makes a lot of sense that she might think so. I'm just not sure why people are defending her for it.

Well, yes, they (and you) are right - not only that, but she didn't even run a campaign for president, she was selected as a running mate after Mondale secured the presidential nomination. So whatever parallels she's making between her own and Obama's candidacy, she seems to be viewing the situation from a very narrow point of view. And that point of view stinks.

It makes me wonder what she really thinks of Hilary.
