Cave Shadows
Aug. 29th, 2004 09:17 amThere is a very interesting post over at Hullaballo re-analyzing Karl Rove's political attack tactics. The short version is that it isn't that Rove attacks the opponents strengths, rather it's that Rove projects his guy's weaknesses onto his opponent, thus undermining the opponent's ability to attack Rove's guy on his weaknesses, because it comes out sounding like the Pee Wee Herman response to a schoolyard taunt: I know you are, but what am I? While I'm not sure this is uniformly correct, I think it's a worthwhile read. To the extent that it's right, it may be a good first step to better anti-Rove tactics....Go read the whole thing.
As a fannish aside, I assume Hullaballoo is not the product of the same digby who was the inspiration for the Niven story about chocolate-covered manhole covers, but indeed I am not sure.
