I am still waffling about this whole vexatious Corflu/Potlatch/both/none-of-the-above business. I am leaning toward Corflu, if forced to choose. Hal is leaning toward Potlatch. One possible solution would be for me to go down to Corflu, spend however much of the intervening week we can stand visiting my parents in San Jose, and the rest of the time imposing on friends and revisiting old haunts, and then join up with Hal for Potlatch. This leaves us only having to board the dog for a maximum of one weekend, which is about the most I can stand to contemplate. But if truth be told, I'd really rather not spring for a whole room at Corflu just for me. Anybody know anybody who's looking for a roomshare?

I would be, if, if, and if... if I won a plane ticket somehow, if my house heating system were back in full automatic operation, if my two jobs weren't going well.... But I haven't got much out of the last few cons I've been to anyhow. I need to pub my ish or something instead.

Well, it would be lovely to see you if you came. I can't vouch for anyone else's con experience, but I've always had a nice time at Corflus. On the other hand, I am a vetted extrovert and you're not. And I wouldn't wish anything on you that were predicated on your jobs NOT going well...

Oh, yes, always that. It's one reason that it's nice that now that we're in Washington, there's lots of new stuff to explore that is driving-distances away and has dog-friendly hostelries and so forth.

Well, it's looking increasingly as if I will do both and Hal will do Potlatch-only, so you may yet get your wish. Although the silliness of flying past Portland to meet up in San Francisco is not lost on me.

I'll be at Corflu and willing to split a room. However, I've offered elisem room space when she arrives for Potlatch the following week and I don't know when that will be, but sometime before Potlatch at any rate. I guess what I'm trying to say is Corflu yes, and even some of the week after but I don't know how much of the week after.

Well, I'll provisionally take that Corflu yes, and we can talk about it further over Greek food tomorrow, by which time I hope to have consulted with his nibs and come to some sort of a decision on this. I suppose this means I must also phone My Mother and take a temperature reading.

Any night but Saturday or Sunday of Corflu weekend. I'm staying at the hotel on Saturday and tamiam has the couch Sunday. Otherwise, you bet!
