Great God Almighty, Spring At Last

Grace, Descending

The cherries are starting to bloom on the quad. About damn' time. And for two days running we've had sunny pleasant weather in the noon hour. It's crap now, of course, but we once had sun and here's the proof.

My office windows face the quad, and, especially this time of year, it's how the university gets away with paying a pittance.

There it is! How beautiful. Our spring is currently dripping all over us. I am annoyed by this much rain.

We have daffodils, forsythia, and paulownia blooming just now.

Oh, and the cherry blossoms on the tidal basin are blooming early and they may be past the peak by the festival. The festivals will be muted this year because of Japan (who gave us cherry trees 99 years ago, and some are still alive) and there'll be multiple places to donate to the American Red Cross.

Cherries are about done here and probably got wiped out by the rain & hail. My poor Santa Rosa Plum was in full "snowball" bloom just before this last set of T-storms... looks like another year without plums. Or D'Anjou pears, same problem, they do this every year...

Thank you!

That's a gorgeous pic.
