As a user of Sterno only for my Hair-of-the-Dog party, it does not have a long shelf life. Sometimes it makes it a year, often it does not. Liquid alcohol, on the other hand, has a great shelf-life. It does demand a stove that burns liquid alcohol, however. I have two.
